The Hollow Oak Tree
Ceritasakti.com - Deep inside a beautiful, sunlit meadow filled with sweet red clovers and bright yellow sunflowers, stood a massive, ancient oak tree. The tree was incredibly old, and right in the middle of its thick wooden trunk was a deep, dark hollow.
Inside this quiet hollow, safely hidden from the strong wind and the rain, hung a spectacular prize. It was a massive, perfectly shaped honeycomb, dripping with rich, sticky, golden honey.
One warm Tuesday morning, a hardworking little Honey Bee named Buzzy flew into the hollow to check on the sweet treasure. His family had spent countless weeks flying from flower to flower, collecting fresh nectar to build this beautiful comb.
"The honey is finally perfect," Buzzy buzzed happily to himself, wiping a tiny drop of gold from his fuzzy legs. "My family will have plenty of food for the entire winter!"
However, Buzzy's joyful moment was suddenly interrupted by a loud, aggressive buzzing sound echoing from outside the tree.
The Aggressive Intruder
A large, sleek Wasp named Spike flew directly into the hollow. Spike had shiny, hard yellow and black stripes, and a very long, terrifying stinger. He was known throughout the entire meadow for being incredibly lazy and extremely greedy.
Spike hovered above the golden comb, his mouth watering at the sweet smell.
"Well, well, well! What a magnificent discovery I have made today!" Spike announced loudly, completely ignoring Buzzy. "This is the finest honeycomb I have ever seen. I am claiming it for the wasps right now!"
Buzzy flew forward bravely, blocking the giant wasp from touching the comb.
"Excuse me, Spike, but you did not discover anything," Buzzy stated firmly. "This is the home of the bees. My brothers and sisters worked tirelessly for weeks to build this wax and gather this nectar. This honey belongs to us!"
Spike laughed a wicked, sharp laugh and crossed his arms. "Do not be ridiculous, you tiny fuzzball. Look at my stripes! I am yellow and black, just like you. I have wings, just like you. I built this comb, and if you do not fly away right now, I will use my stinger!"
The Wise Forest Judge
Buzzy knew he could not win a physical fight against the aggressive wasp, but he refused to surrender his family's hard work to a lazy bully.
"I will not fight you, Spike, but I will not leave," Buzzy declared smartly. "If you truly believe this is your honey, let us go to the forest court. We will let Judge Barnaby decide who the rightful owner is."
Spike rolled his eyes confidently. "Fine! Let us go see the old bear. He will easily see that a magnificent wasp like me is the true master of this comb."
The two insects flew across the sunny meadow until they reached a large, comfortable cave. Sitting outside on a wooden rocking chair was Judge Barnaby, a massive, wise brown bear wearing tiny reading glasses on the end of his nose.
Judge Barnaby loved two things in life: absolute justice and a good, sweet snack.
"Order in the meadow!" Judge Barnaby grumbled softly, adjusting his glasses. "What seems to be the problem today, little ones?"
The Great Argument
"Your Honor," Spike interrupted immediately, pointing his sharp stinger toward Buzzy. "I found a massive honeycomb inside the old oak tree. It is clearly mine, but this annoying little bee is trying to steal it from me!"
Buzzy shook his head frantically. "That is a complete lie, Judge Barnaby! My family built the wax cells perfectly. We flew thousands of miles to gather the nectar. The wasps have done absolutely nothing!"
Judge Barnaby rubbed his furry chin thoughtfully. He looked closely at the bee, and then he looked closely at the wasp.
"This is a very difficult case," the wise bear murmured. "Both of you are flying insects. Both of you wear yellow and black stripes. Both of you possess sharp stingers. To an outside observer, it is nearly impossible to tell which one of you is the true architect of the comb."
Spike smirked wickedly, believing he had already won the argument. "Exactly, Your Honor! The honey is mine."
"Not so fast, Mr. Wasp," Judge Barnaby raised his massive paw. "In my court, we do not rely on loud claims. We rely on undeniable proof. I have devised a brilliant test to settle this dispute once and for all."
The Brilliant Test
The wise bear stood up and pointed toward an empty, wooden box sitting near his cave.
"If both of you claim to be the creators of the golden honeycomb, the solution is incredibly simple," Judge Barnaby smiled. "I want both of you to fly into that empty wooden box right now. You have exactly one week to build a brand new comb and fill it with sweet honey."
Buzzy the bee instantly smiled with absolute joy. "I accept the challenge, Your Honor! My family will happily start building immediately."
However, Spike the wasp completely froze. His confident smirk vanished in a single second. Wasps are excellent at hunting and building paper nests, but they have absolutely no idea how to make wax, and they do not know how to turn flower nectar into honey.
"Wait! That is entirely unfair!" Spike stammered nervously, flying backward. "I am a warrior, not a baker! I do not have time for silly construction tests!"
"A true creator never fears a test of his own skills," Judge Barnaby said, his voice becoming deep and stern. "If you cannot make the honey, then you certainly did not build the comb in the oak tree."
The Truth Revealed
Realizing that his lazy lies were completely exposed, Spike turned bright red with pure embarrassment. He did not say another word. The cowardly wasp quickly turned around and flew as fast as he could out of the meadow, completely abandoning his false claim.
Judge Barnaby smiled warmly at the brave little bee.
"The case is officially closed," the wise bear declared, banging a small wooden stick against a rock. "The golden honeycomb rightfully belongs to Buzzy and the hardworking bees."
"Thank you, Judge Barnaby!" Buzzy cheered happily. "To show our deep gratitude for your incredible wisdom, my family would love to invite you to the oak tree for a fresh, sweet snack."
Judge Barnaby patted his large stomach and laughed heartily. "I thought you would never ask, little friend. Justice is sweet, but fresh honey is even sweeter!"
